STAY AWAY from The Scott Law Team. Hiring The Scott Law Team was the worst decision my wife and I could have made. They are only in it for the money, and don't truly care about the clients best interests. My wife, also a lawyer, was wrongfully terminated from a local law firm. Cathleen Scott and her firm came highly recommended. Cathleen and her firm couldn't have done a worse job. After almost a year of litigation, Cathleen Scott did not take one single deposition. Worse than that, the Defendant law firm objected to virtually everything in discovery and Cathleen did not file one single motion to compel. Cathleen basically accepted everything the law firm said, without getting the proof and evidence to support it. During the course of litigation the Defendant law firm dissolved. Some of the former Partners eventually opened a new law firm, while some other former Partners opened yet a different law firm. Cathleen and the defense attorney were friends, and I have no doubt this clouded Cathleens judgment and affected her ability to zealously represent my wife. At the end of the day, my wife ended up with a settlement for an amount about 40% LESS than what the firm was offering my wife prior to filing suit. That's right, 40% LESS. Cathleen knew about the offer from the beginning. Instead of advising us in any way about whether my wife should take that offer, Cathleen kept ranting about how great my wifes case was, and that my wife should file suit. The only reason we eventually settled was because we were advised that since the law firm dissolved, collecting what my wife was rightfully owed would be extremely difficult. While my wife made out with 40% less than what the firm was offering before filing suit, The Scott Law Team made about $65,000. With Cathleen and her firm it's all about them making money, and it has nothing to do with client satisfaction. I can't stress enough, STAY AWAY from Cathleen Scott and The Scott Law Team.
Outstanding group - they were recommended to me by another employment attorney in the state. Their reputation is well-deserved: they work hard to get results.
Unemployment attorneys who help people through Covid issues with employers but yet just to speak with you, they want $400.00 to talk to you and see if you have a case!!! zero stars, if I could
Awesome firm, staff is super professional and courteous. We worked with Cathleen Scott, Debby Baker, Ashley Prescott among others and every interaction was top notch. I have worked with attorneys in the past on different issues and responsiveness to questions was always an issue. With Cathleen Scotts firm this was never an issue, timely responses and quick call backs. A+++++++
When it was necessary to use an attorney for this speciality, this one came highly recommended. I know for a fact the individual that recommended her had a very good outcome, so it seemed like a good decision to pay the consultation fee that most attorney's extend to an initial client for free. In my case, it was not. I'd never pay for an initial consultation again. In this situation, I believe that even a letter would have produced the desired results but this firm did not share the same view. In my world, a letter, should have been an "automatic" for the initial fee charged. Weigh your options.
Completely unprofessional. I sent them information on my case weeks ago and was told that the information would be reviewed by an attorney and that I should get a call back. However, it was not brought to my attention that the attorney that handles cases like mine would be on vacation until I had to call back to check the status. Weeks later I call once more to check whether or not I could get a consultation, to be told that they can go ahead and schedule me. So I'm wondering if I had never called them, would I have even gotten a phone call like the young lady Porsche said I would. Or would have I been waiting for months? I declined a consultation as I would never want such an unprofessional firm to handle my case. I am upset that I sent them so many details of my case, just to get ignored.
Working with Cathleen and her staff was an amazing experience. Being faced with a three year litagation process can be and was a very stressful situation but knowing we had the best by our sides the whole time made it easy to be assured that it would all work out. Hopefully we’ll never need their services again, but if we do, they’d be the first we’d call without hesitation!
