I don’t usually take the time to write reviews, but my experience with Solkoff Legal, and especially with Kate Macaluso, was so exceptional that I felt compelled to share it.
I was helping my cousin, who has disabilities, apply for Medicaid. I knew the process would be overwhelming and complex, so I reached out to Solkoff Legal based on a trusted friend’s recommendation. From our very first meeting with Scott Solkoff, we felt we were in good hands. Shortly after, we began working closely with Kate Macaluso, the firm’s benefits coordinator, and that’s when everything changed.
Kate guided us through each step of the Medicaid application process with professionalism, patience, and kindness. She took the time to explain the intricacies of the system in a way that made everything feel manageable. No matter how many questions we had, often repeating the same ones, Kate was always available, responsive, and incredibly understanding. What truly stood out was her genuine compassion. She didn’t just treat this as a case, she cared deeply about my cousin and her well-being, even expressing interest in meeting her personally.
Thanks to Kate’s guidance and dedication, my cousin was successfully approved for Medicaid. And even now, long after the application process has ended, Kate continues to be a supportive resource.

Over the past few years I have consulted with Scott Solkoff of Solkoff Legal about a number of Elder Law issues. Originally I asked Scott for help for my son-in-law's father in New York and the father of a friend in Connecticut. I was so impressed by Scott's professionalism and good advice putting me in touch with elder law specialists in New York and Connecticut that my wife and I decided to engage Scott to re-draft our ten year-old wills.
