This was a very odd experience. I had a very cordial conversation with the paralegal discussing my daughter and whether they can help her get into a school better suited for her situation. I doubt her situation is any different from any other parent seeking an education lawyer. I paid 600 to have a consultation, again very cordial although probably 20 minutes. I then didn’t hear anything back for over a week so I emailed the paralegal and asked whether they would take my case. She told me she would get back to me and after a few more days I was told they will not take my case and good luck. I emailed asking for a reason explaining I would like to avoid spending 600 to other lawyers if I don’t have a winnable case, but she wouldn’t respond. I tried calling a few times but she uses her caller id to screen calls as i only reached her when I had my wife call. She told me I didn’t give a school my daughter was interested in so that’s why they couldn’t take the case. This was obviously a bs excuse, they simply could have asked me but I played along and gave her the name of the school she was interested in. She then told me I first needed to find out if this school had a availability and I emailed them today saying they did. I then got an email from Spencer with a notice of non-engagement and told they don’t disclose internal decisions. I have no issue not taking the case but for 600 dollars I think people are at least entitled to know why or at a minimum whether the case has merit but they just can’t take it. I don’t know any other field that can charge this type of money and behave like this. Please avoid .
