I contacted Stevens + Sullivan regarding a Federal Tort Claims Act matter. I submitted comprehensive documentation including Texas federal law, VA directives, and an investigation establishing all four elements required under the FTCA. I sent two emails in one day with multiple documents supporting two separate cases their firm acknowledged it could handle. The following morning, I received a declination citing “the accelerated timeline and demands you have outlined.” I never outlined an accelerated timeline or demands. I explained why I submitted thorough documentation — my vision has deteriorated to the point I can barely see in my right eye, and I am racing to complete my case before losing the ability to work on it entirely. The declination came the morning after my submissions. I have the emails in my inbox showing the documents sent and the timeline of responses. This review is based solely on facts. No conclusions or allegations have been made. For years, I have tried to get my disability claims approved on my own, as well as with the help of a local Veterans Service Office, but to no avail. Even after doing everything I thought was correct, I was denied over and over. It literally took me 15 years to get to a 60% rating. The back and forth resulting in denial after denial, as well as dealing with some very questionable VA-appointed practitioners, caused me much unnecessary stress and depression.
