I had the pleasure to work with Attorney Suzanne Ferguson and I was facing 2 felony charges where I could have faced jail time, probation, and lose my job. It was for charges that I never even committed but I still was facing an uphill battle and I turned to Ms. Ferguson and she took my case. I am a military veteran with service connected PTSD. Years after service I found myself facing three felonies. After a full mental health panel assessment conducted by the VA and County Mental Health, the charges brought forth against me were found to be correlated with PTSD from my military service. As such, I was found eligible for County Veterans Court, which is something many veterans, active service members, and civilians do not know exist. However, Mrs. Ferguson did not only know it existed but she was well versed in presenting cases before Veterans Court itself. Facing several years in prison, she represented me with professionalism and diligent knowledge of the law. Additionally, she was polite and reasonably available to quickly bring answers to any questions myself or my family may have had. From the very beginning she was in great contact with me, as well as her many resources in preparing for my case to be argued before the Superior Court. As a result, I am not in prison, and, in fact, my felonies will be dismissed and my record will be sealed once I complete the Veterans Court Program. I am currently well on my way to restructuring my life and move on from this frightful and stressful timeline of events. Living with PTSD is a forever adjustment.
