When our parents' mental capacities began to falter, we contacted Laird to review the planning that he had assisted my parents with codifying legally. He graciously met with the six of us sibling who are still in the Rockford area. Laird leisurely, carefully and in a most friendly manner reviewed their their legally codified plans with us. This was at a time of heathcare crisis for both of our parents. Laird was very calming & reassuring to us and answered all of our questions. He then invited us to contact him with any further questions going forward. He received a fair number of contacts from us, thereafter, and responded to each of them cheerfully and promptly. Laird Lambert is always professional and truly a very congenial man of high character. I highly recommend Laird Lambert's Legal Counsel to all. Ok so this may be long but please read and by all means share: 5 years ago my father in law paid over $1000 to Attorney Laird Lambert to do a trust for him. At that time we were told when the time comes all we had to do was call him. When my father in law died I did just that. Mr. Lambert just said, well call me if you need anything, unfortunately I didn't know what I might need. After talking to our tax person I found out we needed a tax ID number for the trust so I called the attorney back. Mr. Lambert told me "my tax attorney could do that, or we could, or I guess I could" I responded that I would appreciate them taking care of it. Never heard back. So several weeks later I called and talked to secretary and she said "oh it's really easy you can just go online and do it" I advised her that Mr. Lambert stated when we set up this trust that he would take care of it...So fast forward a couple more messages left to today when I called again left another message. He called right back and I explained we need to get the tax id because we may be selling the house and need it. He said "call me when you have an offer" I said we already have one and I don't want waiting for the tax id to become an issue. He avoided question about tax id and went straight to telling me he could do the contract for the sale. I advised we had a real estate attorney helping us with that and he SAID..."OH SO YOU JUST WANT ME TO DO STUFF FOR FREE YOU CAN DROP DEAD" Then he hung up on me. I called back and said " that response was highly inappropriate and we weren't asking him to do anything for free we were asking him to follow up on what we paid him for 5 years ago. He said "YOU CAN JUS HAVE YOUR OTHER ATTORNEY DO IT, GO TO HELL". Hung up on me again. Needless to say I would not recommend him to ANYONE. I have already contacted legal advice, left a message for the better business bureau, contacted the states attorney office, WREX TV, and the Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Board.

We had a trust setup by this attorney and he told told my wife to drop dead when she called to request the tax ID number for my deceased father's estate. DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY!! He is rude and extremely unhelpful!!!

After the death of my Father I realized how important a will and trust were. My will had been done years before and I didn't have a trust. Laird was great to work with and very helpful.
