This was the third time he's helped me, and in between, Tahirah R. Payne also got points dropped from a speeding ticket. I will be very honest in that I am on the fence about this 5 star review. Everyone that I spoke with was extremely professional and good at communicating. I have had Devron Brown for 2 different cases and he is always extremely professional. That being said, on the first case, I was never once asked to come into the office or to provide particulars regarding the specifics of my case. However Mr. Brown still achieved an acceptable outcome to me, I do wonder though if that outcome was achievable faster and with less dramatics had he had all of the information up front. The second time there was a "miscommunication" that had him showing up in court on a case that he was hired for but not needed on and was told that he was not needed on that but the other. Technically he was hired by my mother, for me and not by me, so I was not the client and could not cancel one retainer and create another. A minor thing that could have been handled by a phone call but was not. All that being said, their service was amazing. The outcomes that I have gotten were acceptable. I have and will continue to recommend them to others. I would simply advise to communicate extremely carefully and clearly and to request either time to meet with your attorney regardless of the company.

**Edited After Requesting Refund** I reached out to Cohen & Associates for a consultation and was lucky enough to have Rachel S. respond. Rachel was great, but Rachel isn’t your attorney. The firm assigns you an attorney - not unlike the public defender’s office - and like the public defender’s office… you will be disappointed. My partner hired them for me because I’d read Google reviews before ever needing them. The reviews here are financially compensated, and if you request they not be your attorney they offer refunds in exchange for reviews, etc. The truth is, in my experience, you’re a case file here. Maybe they have too many cases; maybe they have too many staff attorneys; maybe Cohen doesn’t care what people say because the checks clear anyway… but this is NOT who you want fighting for your life, your time, or your reputation. They did give us a full refund after a few weeks, but I sat in jail without a single legal call or visit for weeks. The attorney assigned to me didn’t have a clue what was actually going on. No one wants to blow their attorney’s phone up from jail…. but here you have no choice. If you don’t consistently press the office for some idea of what’s going on - you’ll never know. You will show up to court and you’ll have zero idea who this stranger is representing you; they’ll have no idea who you are or what’s actually happening. It’s just not what you want to do with your money. I’m embarrassed I left the positive review up for so long; I’d just forgotten about it.
