If i could leave a lower star than 1 i absolutely would. I literally called to ask questions regarding if he practices what i was trying to purse and he was so rude and unprofessional. I was on the phone with him for maybe 1 minute and had the most unpleasant experience. The good reviews must be fake. Stay far away.

I hired Mr. Velez in help with my PUA case and to review my appeals. He was well educated in Unemployment claims during the scamdemic and he saved me from essentially being $30,000 in debt. Although I hired him very last minute after I received my appeal packets he met with me on several occasions a week before my appeal for prep sessions in person and on zoom. The dedication he brings to his clients is unlike any other attorney I ever experienced. He truly cares and he’s amazing at what he does. I highly recommend Mr. Velez for any unemployment issues.

If I could give Mr Velez 10 stars I would. My wife claimed unemployment benefits around 2020 as many others did. 5 years later they decided she shouldn’t have received it and wanted all the money back. We called Mr Velez and he assisted us through the entire process, from dissecting all the paper work, the appeals, and finally the hearing which was resolved today. Needed an employment attorney fast, not only was Joseph quick to respond, but he listened to what I said, let me know before I even spent a dime if this was worth pursuing. Extremely unprofessional. I would assume most of 5 star reviews are fake it's pretty obvious. Joseph Velez is probably the most repulsive person I have ever encountered. The State Bar of Arizona suspended his license for three months and put him on two years probation for violation of his duties and obligations as a lawyer. Too many violations to list here. One was for overdraft from his Bank where Velez had his client trust account. It was found that Velez routinely deposited all monies received from clients into his trust account regardless of whether the funds were earned and he deposited personal funds into the trust account on several occasions. Velez failed to maintain complete trust account records for a period of five years and did not maintain individual client ledgers or the equivalent. Joseph Velez failed to record all transactions promptly and completely, failed to perform monthly reconciliations of the trust account and failed to consistently disburse from his trust account with only prenumbered checks. Mr. Velez also failed to properly safeguard client funds that resulted in negligent conversion of those funds

Mr. Velez is a very respectful attorney I really appreciate for his help. He is treating not like a client but a family. He is a great men and very knowledgeable in law. He is very experienced attorney. I am giving him more than 5 stars.

Mr. Velez really saved me a lot of financial hardship and struggling over the next however many years. Like many others, I received PUA from the state of AZ during the pandemic. The state decided to come after me 4 YEARS later for the full amount they paid me. I appealed the determination and waited til they put me on the calendar to have a hearing, thinking I could go into this alone. Then I received the hearing packets. I would have been completely LOST without Mr. Velez’s knowledge and experience in handling matters like this. We had many prep sessions, going over the case and preparing for the hearing. Turns out, with his help, the case was decided in my favor. Without his help, I truly believe I would NOT have had the same outcome. He was honest, trustworthy, diligent, and very experienced.
