Mr. Miles is knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. He was extremely helpful in advising my elderly mother-in-law as she updated her will and other important documents. Mr. Miles made sure she had the appropriate type of trust to meet her needs. He completed the documents in a timely manner. The final binder of documents looks professional and is very nicely organized.
I highly recommend Mr. Miles!

Keith Miles is an excellent estate attorney, compassionate, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I’ve known him for over 10 years as both a skilled lawyer and reliable professional resource. He explains complex estate law clearly and genuinely cares about his clients.

My experience with this attorney was incredibly distressing. I won’t go into detail because, honestly, I left the interaction in tears and still do not feel safe being fully open, even in this review. I felt berated, deeply uncomfortable, and unsupported. The attorney often contradicted himself, which made it hard to trust the process. My matter involved a document review, and based on how I was treated, I feel concerned for anyone else seeking similar help. I do not require or want a response from the office. The way I was treated this morning was more than enough, and I do not wish to be contacted or drawn into further conflict. I am only leaving this review so others can proceed with caution.
Edited to add: In response to the firm’s reply, here’s more context.
First pay attention to the way they name call a 30 year old young woman struggling to care for 2 disabled people(my mom with Multiple Sclerosis and my grandmother suffering from Parkinson’s disease).
If what this office is saying is not a lie, they should be able to provide a screenshot showing that they offered a higher fee and I declined. That never happened. I have my own records, and at no point did I refuse to pay more. In fact, I offered to cover the additional cost when the attorney asked for three separate consultations, even though my mother is already on Medicaid and did not need one.
I was seeking help with a Medicaid exemption strategy. The documents were already formatted and notarized. I followed all instructions, paid the consultation fee, and the appointment was canceled the same day.
The attorney first said he wouldn’t proceed because I had prepared the documents myself. Then he said he would proceed only if another attorney had prepared them. I said that if I had known that earlier, I could have had an attorney revise them within my budget. Later, he said he wouldn’t review them even if another attorney had prepared them. I have screenshots that show this. The only reason I’m not posting them is because I want to be cautious about privacy laws and avoid sharing private communications without proper consent.
Here is a direct quote from a text I sent him:
“No one is asking you to compromise your practice. If you see something wrong with the work, correct it and charge us for it. But what you’re saying does not make sense and that is not the way God works. You are denying logic. You charge for document review. We paid the price and sent the documents over. You didn’t have an email. I sent you the workflow to explain, because you said it wasn’t explained. Now you say you can’t follow my workflow. You said you needed to speak to them. I said they could come to the meeting. You said the documents were not executed. I sent you an executed copy. You just don’t want to do it. It doesn’t have anything to do with logic. It has to do with you not wanting to do it, for whatever your reasons are. Because everything you’re saying that you needed to know, you could’ve asked them in the meeting today.”
I was also told, “You are obviously not someone who listens. Goodbye,” and “If you feel you have everything worked out, why bother to include me?” I didn’t originally include these quotes because I wanted to move forward peacefully, but they help explain why I left the interaction in tears. I never raised my voice or insulted him. I brought God into it by saying that power does not make someone right. If that offended him, perhaps that was conviction in his spirit.
It feels like some attorneys believe that if they can’t bill you for thousands, your case isn’t worth their time. Instead of honoring a client’s preparation and charging fairly to correct or improve a draft, they choose to disengage. It’s unfortunate when someone chooses not to help simply because they can’t control every detail or maximize profit.
Let the next person decide what they think. I could say more, but I’m emotionally exhausted and focused now on finding someone who will actually help or NELF(the organization that accredits him).

First, we are sincerely sorry that you did not have a positive experience with our firm. That is never something that we like to hear. It is not good for either the prospective client nor the firm.

Typically, we do not go further to respond to a review. The conventional wisdom is that other prospective clients will read the responses later and make their own decision whether to proceed based on how the attorney responded.

However, there are certain situations if the reviewer is the only commenter on the situation it would not properly represent the situation that occurred.

Unfortunately, this situation with this particular prospective client involved wanting us to review documents that she had already prepared herself.

She was politely informed that was not an acceptable approach in our practice.

However, the attorney informed her that he would work with her, if she would schedule new sessions (the matter involved other people as well) that would instead let him start from scratch with the proper individuals.. That would allow him to do his own investigation of the matter.

She then berated the attorney for not just moving forward with using her documents and declared that the “plan was solid” and tried to shame/bully him into moving forward.

The attorney informed her that he would decline to proceed.

As they had not actually had the meeting, the attorney completely refunded the fee to her.

Hopefully, other prospective clients will read our explanation and then go back to re-read her review for true proper context.

Again, while we are sorry that she is upset and we wish that could have been avoided…we will not allow our reputation be slandered when the source of the frustration was 1) our saying “no” to her, 2) refusing to be bullied by her, and 3) insisting on being professional and ethical.

REGARDING HER ADDITIONAL EDITS: The edits validate her insistence on the attorney using her drafts.

The firm does NOT work from client drafts at all.

Her money was refunded immediately before we even had any session. She did not lose anything in time nor money yet wants to try to harm this firm.
If I could give a zero I would due to the unprofessionalism that has not changed from a previous review. Attorney Keith Miles lost a client because he responds without reading for understanding. My sister was willing to come in person with her ID because she doesn't have a relationship with LegalShield/Prepaid Legal and this attorney became rude in his communication about a general question not specific to any person that he didn't want to even find out about. Now our family who makes decisions together knowing only one POA can authorize at a time will find another attorney to ask a general question before we retain. We just buried our father (who I was his POA) a month ago and to deal with this type of behavior from someone we could potentially hire is unacceptable at any time. A review with screenshots of the texts from his portal will be made with LegalShield/Prepaid Legal as well.
I recommend if you are referred to Attorney Miles to ask to speak to someone to make sure there is no misunderstanding of what you are seeking before using the portal. I appreciate him apologizing on 12/23/24 via Google Review.
