STAY FAR AWAY! Dana took a $5,000 retainer and filed 1 motion in 6 months. One which she said would be done the week I met her. Every time I would ask where the motion was at I was met with screaming and belittling. Her office would not answer me about billing whatsoever and actually said their systems are messed up. But now since I fired her, she sent an invoice asking for yet ANOTHER $750! Just straight thieves. I have all of this evidence in emails if anybody would like to take a look. Absolute garbage of an attorney. She claims to be a shark…. But the only one to claim that🤦♂️
I had a consultation meeting with Nate a week ago and I was very impressed with his legal knowledge and guidance that he provided me. He is a great lawyer that you are lucky to have working for you. If I need future legal assistance, I will definitely reach out to Nate and reference him to friends when possible.
Also, Nate projects himself as a very compassionate and caring lawyer, which is very reassuring.
I would give 0 stars if I could. Edward Jaquays was my ex’s attorney. We had a very amicable divorce. We agreed on everything, and Edward dragged out our case for almost a year solely to increase billable hours. Twenty k for an amicable divorce. Insane. He was one of the meanest people I’ve ever encountered, and it wasn’t because my ex and I disagreed about anything. He’s just a horrible rude person. Stay far away.

You do not need to know who I am. That isn't a requirement in order to leave a review of your service. Your statement regarding no "winners" in a divorce doesn't apply to my review specifically because my ex and I agreed on everything, therefore, nothing to "win." So please take your copy/paste responses somewhere else.
I'm not sure why you are "confused" as to how your firm cost ME money. Please re-read my review. Where did I state you cost ME money? You didn't cost ME money. You charged my EX Twenty k for an amicable divorce, and I saw the bills. But I get it, you're just trying to discredit my review. You're an attorney's office and your morals are less than stellar while your main focus is your billable hours, so I am not surprised you are trying to discredit my review.
I, nor my ex-husband, feel the need to spend our time on the phone complaining to you about your service. Our words will not change the way you operate, nor will it change your treatment of your future clients.
The best thing we can do is help advise others of our experience, so your potential future clients know what your services truly entail. From reading these reviews, we are definitely not the only ones. Edward Jaquays specifically has quite the track record of the same exact experience we received. Not a nice word written about him in any of these reviews except by one person who, by your own account, only had a consultation with him. That in itself speaks volumes. AND CHECK OUT JAQUAYS' YELP REVIEWS!! HORRIBLE! DON'T HIRE HIM!
Oh and one last thing. How does a law office not know the difference between were and we’re? You said “ We are a little confused how Mr. Jaquays and his firm cost you money as (you stated) we’re not our client.” It should have been “ We are a little confused how Mr. Jaquays and his firm cost you money as (you stated) WERE not our client.” A law firm should do better.

Dear Brandy,<br><br>We are unsure of who you are and what our firm did for your ex as you chose not to display your full name. When dealing with a divorce or a matter in family law, it is common to know that no one is the “winner” in those types of cases. I’m sorry you were dissatisfied with the representation we gave your ex. We are a little confused how Mr. Jaquays and his firm cost you money as (you stated) we’re not our client. However, if you or your ex husband would like to discuss your dissatisfaction with our office, please feel free to give us a call. Thank you
Dana is absolutely amazing! She is compassionate, empathetic, caring, and a fierce advocate that truly will have your best interests at heart. She won't pump you for cash and will be totally honest with you about your case and possible projected outcomes. I highly recommend her!
Looking for Resolution? Look elsewhere. With an office across from the courthouse, it is my personal experience that Mr. Jaquays finds it too convenient to litigate, instead of work toward settlement. My case has been in the Will County family court system for 8 years POST-Divorce!!
It is my opinion that this case has been kept in court due largely to his appetite for billable hours, fed by a contentious ex.
He doesn't stop there. Mr. Jaquays has also served motions on his own client (the ex) threatening to file liens pursuing payment for his considerable fees on two separate occasions. This tactic is effective, and a well-documented practice of this firm. So, be aware that should you not pay up as agreed, you may be litigated against by your own attorney.
For my family, his involvement in this case has significantly contributed to a recipe for disastrous financial fallout all-around. Of course, it's not all his fault, he's just following orders, one assumes. He is a capable professional (although I have questioned his choice in ties). But at some point there should be a logical, ethical end to pointless litigation. Not here.
There are more compassionate, ethical attorneys who can litigate as effectively, or better. (Although he has a reputation as a formidable litigator, we won our case against him.)
Bottom line: Part of the responsibility as an attorney is to advise clients when to call it a day. That won't happen with this attorney, unless/until you're completely out of money. I would urge you to consider these excellent attorneys, instead:
Mr. Paul Braun - Homewood; Mr. James Teich - Chicago; Ms. Carol Barry - Orland Park.
I would hate for what has happened with my case to happen to ANYONE else.
Respectfully submitted.
PostScript - Wow. 2022! SIX YEARS after sharing my experience, this "Firm" decides to post a reply to my review with a haughty, generic cut-and-pasted response. (...Basically identical feedback for all the other negative reviews.)
That honestly says so much about how this Practice operates. I'm pretty sure astute individuals can appreciate the lack of authenticity therein.
Well-wishes appreciated and aside, I'm grateful that my next chapter started in 2011 when we won our case. And despite the 3 Post-Divorce Appeals this firm filed, embroiling my family in the courts for nearly a decade post-divorce, I'm good now. It's taken quite awhile to recover from the exponential fallout resulting from my ex's devastating decision to retain this firm.
I wasn't going to bother responding to this 'sudden' knee-jerk response to my still-heartfelt review, since this was so long ago... But, I sincerely pity the folks who have to wade through the toxic waters of Will County family court--especially if they are anchored to this Outfit. (One just needs to google some of this Office's court cases to find other atrocities, even more circus-like and catastrophic than mine.)
Divorce is difficult enough. My fervent wish is that all who happen to be going through this tough chapter, take note. Do thorough research. Find competent counsel with some conscience. It IS possible.
The beneficieries of my best wishes are the individuals who may happen across these words, who are struggling and seeking to find real help. Hang in there, folks. This too shall pass! (...and keep movin').

Ms. "Perry"<br><br>As many know, when pursuing a case involving family, it is very common what a judge determines is fair in a family matter may not be what the client was expecting or wanting fully. We here at our office defend our clients interests and rights, and they may upset individuals who are on the opposing side of our firm, such as yourself. However, as to your comments pertaining to our billing and our seeking of recovering the moneys that is due and owed to our firm, that is a matter that is discussed between our client and the attorney of record. If your "ex" would like to discuss this matter with our office, he is free to contact our firm directly.<br><br>We wish you the best on this next chapter of your story.
Best service I’ve ever had from any attorney! The right choice is 100% Nathaniel Tate for your new Attounrey ! If you’re looking for straight forward honest answers and very responsive this is the attorney to hire. The consultation was honest and very affordable everything we spoke about he made sure I was taken care of and protected!

Hello Mike, Thank you for your reivew of our firm. We are pleased that you were happy with Nate. We hope things are going well for you and wish you the best. If you have any further concerns that arise, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
Please do not hire Mr. Jaquays to represent you in a divorce case. In my case, he proved himself to be a poor communicator and a heartless person, who actually provided only mediocre legal representation. His office did their best work when billing me for services. The last thing anyone needs during a difficult time is a mean lawyer. Stay far away.

Had a great experience with Mr Jacquays. Went to see him regarding grandparents visitation rights, and he provided me with some very knowledgeable insight as well as a possible solution outside the courthouse. I did what he said to do, and It worked! Best $150 I’ve spent in a long time.
