I was riding my bicycle up a narrow mountain road, the upper portion of the road did not have a bike lane or berm. I was hit by a motorcycle coming up the road behind me going about 35 mph. I had serious injuries: fractured cervical spine, fractured nose and maxilla and fractured ribs. I had surgery to treat the fractures and was quadriplegic for a while after surgery but by the grace of God I was able to learn to walk again. While in the hospital I learned that the police officer who was at the scene had issued me a citation for making an illegal turn (which I was not doing ). Once out of the hospital doing outpatient rehabilitation I went to a lawyer in Littleton who told me that because I had been issued the citation, he could not help me.
