Working with Jon Bylsema, Kyle Konwinski, Adam Brody, and Charlotte Jolly has been a truly positive experience. They were kind, understanding, and highly knowledgeable about our case, guiding us to a satisfactory outcome. We sincerely appreciate their professionalism and support, and would gladly recommend them—and the law firm of Varnum—to anyone in need of legal assistance. Thank you!
Let me just start off by saying for all the negative reviews left by people it’s far from the truth of what and who Varnum is.
I’ve been a client of Varnum 4 years.
I have personally been in the office and spoke with the receptionist ladies, every time I feel welcomed like I am part of the family.
Jon always answers my calls, texts, and emails, he protects me and my family. Best Attorney in America.
Anything I need he does it for my family, he is a true Lawyer who after being 30 plus years with the firm shows what Varnum is really all about their values and what they stand for.
Varnum isn’t ripping clients off, that’s unethical, Varnum isn’t about doing unethical practices.
Varnum has been around since the late 1800s, Varnum is a very reputable Law Firm to trust with your legal needs.
They’re a community based law Firm in local charities, giving back to the Community in West Michigan.
Nothing in life is perfect, but I can personally tell you if you hired a law firm like Varnum Attorneys at law you will never regret it, you will become family, a repeat client.
I personally recommend hiring Varnum for all your legal issues, advice, and matters.
Thank you Varnum and Jon M. Bylsma for everything you keep doing for my Family.
If I could put zero I would, Tina with the smoker voice was so rude, threatening and unprofessional to say the least. At first she was very kind but as soon as I told her I didn’t have the $800 she requested she threatened me with foreclosure and then some. What type of people hire someone this ridiculous 😂 and then to top it off she hung up on me twice! She was so rude to me but as soon as I was rude back she had an issue with me. Apparently they do agreements over the phone too? I wasn’t told that I was agreeing to something over the phone. I’m not 11 😭😂 save your money time and peace, instead of dealing with these people who don’t want to do a job but smoke a pack of cigs. She always so refused to put her boss on the phone which is crazy to me considering she’s the damn receptionist 😂
Attorney Matthew Bailey adjourned a custody hearing without my consent and out of my presence.
Matthew wasted months of our time trying to get me to mediate and agree to the demands of my child's father in spite of my adamant rejection to the idea. Matthew was visibly flustered on the day of the hearing and did not prepare more than a few screenshots for "evidence".
Prior to the hearing, Matthew was unavailable for preparatory calls/conversations as soon as the clock hit 5pm every day. No witnesses interviewed, no evidence reviewed, etc.
I had personally prepared myself for these last months to have a productive conversation with the other side and with the FOC to make meaningful changes to a custody agreement but Matthew had other ideas -- minutes before the hearing was to begin, he became angry with me for still not wanting to mediate so, the second I went to go find my husband for support, Matthew started the hearing without notifying me and adjourned it without my consent, without my being present. Then when we caught Matthew outside the hearing room, he announced he was withdrawing from my case and refused to explain what happened during the hearing he had just adjourned, though he did cite his "partner" status with Varnum LLP as some sort of defense against our growing concern.
We had to hire a different, more competent lawyer right away to reschedule the same type of hearing for several weeks from now.
Again, massive waste of time and money, not to mention a painful day for me and my family. Matthew is completely incapable, and he's clearly fearful of hearings -- he only wants to mediate and satisfy the other side.
One of the worst law firms in the state of Michigan. Very unprofessional but knowledge about deceptive ways to manipulate the law. I would definitely not recommend this firm for any type of assistance with the law.
Divorce is not easy! It is Stressful, time consuming and life changing! I reached out to Erica Salerno with time running out in my divorce case! Erica was a God Send! Immediately she got to work, filing the paperwork needed, and make sure that I got a deal that was fair and equitable! If you find yourself in this very uncomfortable situation I wouldn't recommend anyone other than Erica Salerno and the Varnum staff. They were professional, courteous and very informative! Erica eased my Stress, stayed in continuous communication and took great care of me! She's the best! Thank you Erica!
I have been happy with all members of the Varnum team that I've worked with. Professional, responsive, very helpful at laying out risk to reward scenarios, providing options, etc...Well worth it for our business
Any organization that charges $53 to send an email should be seriously pondered when looking for a legal firm. Respond to that email with a question- congratulations $106.
I can firmly second Angelique Walters's sentiment in her review of this firm. She wrote: "We have found their communications late and untimely and their attitude is one of complete disconcern to the point of laziness." This was true for me when I tried reaching out to the firm with some legal questions. First I called attorney Mark Allard, who had been recommended to me. He didn't respond. Later, I followed up via email. He didn't respond. Months later I reached out to another attorney, Thomas G. Kyros, the firm's Executive Partner. He didn't respond. Later I reached out to the firm's Chair, David Khorey, who also didn't respond to me. I was contacted, finally, by someone I'd been passed down to who told me the firm could, unsurprisingly, be of no assistance to me. I'm wondering why the first person I contacted couldn't have simply told me that, months earlier.
