Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed in the level of representation and support I received throughout the process. While I understand that legal outcomes can vary, I felt overlooked and unsupported during a time when I was doing my best to protect and provide for my children on my own. As a single mother, I had hoped for an advocate—someone who would understand the complexity and emotional toll of long-term separation and delayed legal closure. Though I don’t expect sharing this to change my case, I do hope it encourages others—especially professionals in the legal field—to recognize the unique challenges single parents face and to strive for greater empathy and effectiveness in their work.
