My experience with Balaban Law was extremely disappointing and frustrating. As a client for less than a month or so, I expected communication, transparency, and actual work being done on my case. Unfortunately, that was not my experience. During the time they were involved, I never had a single phone call, email, or conversation with any attorney from the firm about my case. From what I could see, there appeared to be very little work performed. A demand was never even sent on the case while they were involved. Despite that, the firm later attempted to claim a lien of about $4,000 on a policy with only a $50,000 limit. That amount felt completely unreasonable considering the minimal involvement and lack of communication. The lack of attorney contact and the size of the lien left me feeling very concerned about how my case was handled. Clients deserve to actually speak with their attorneys and understand what work is being done on their behalf. Based on my experience, I would strongly encourage others to be very cautious and to thoroughly research this firm before hiring them. If you believe your case has been mishandled, it may also be worth looking into your options for filing a complaint with your state bar association.

I want to share my experience regarding at Balaban Law. After I decided to disengage from the firm, I requested my case file. What I received was extremely concerning because there was essentially nothing there. There were no meaningful documents, no evidence of work having been done, and nothing that showed progress on my case. From my perspective as a client, it appeared that zero work had actually been performed while my case was with the firm. When I asked for the file, there was effectively nothing to send. Clients trust attorneys to actively work on their cases, communicate with them, and move things forward. That simply did not happen in my situation. Because of my experience, I strongly encourage anyone considering this firm to do their research and ask detailed questions about how your case will be handled and who will actually be working on it. Based on what I went through, I would recommend people stay far away.
