Brian Cathey is an amazing and personable attorney for GA malpractice cases, I highly highly recommend him and his team. I found Brian’s info listed on Avvo during a very scary and stressful situation when my MIL was hospitalized and the facility nearly killed her due to negligence; I pinged him on Avvo and he called me back within an hour to discuss all of the details of my predicament. Brian thoughtfully listened and gave extremely helpful advice over the phone during our first interaction, all for free. He is genuinely kind and compassionate, and extremely qualified and well-respected (sometimes he can even get hospitals to settle before the case goes to court because they personally know his expertise in the field). Rest assured he is the right man for the job!
Brian is an exceptional attorney—professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely dedicated to his clients. He helped us navigate a complicated legal situation with clarity and confidence. Brian took the time to explain our rights and options, making sure we felt informed and supported every step of the way. We are incredibly grateful for his guidance and advocacy. Highly recommended if you need someone who truly has your back.
Brian is extremely professional and courteous. He truly understands how difficult nursing/healthcare is and really helped me with my employment contract. Brian fought for me and protected my best interests. I highly recommend him if you’re looking for an attorney
I would like to share my experience with Attorney Brian Cathey. I have a family member who lost her leg due to Medical Malpractice. Our Statute of Limitations is coming up quickly, so Mr.Cathey was unable to take our case. However, Brian Cathey went out of his way to help us find representation. I appreciate everything Brian Cathey did to assist my family member. I could tell that he is an attorney that will go out of his way for his clients. Should I ever have need of an attorney in the State of Georgia in the future, he can rest assured that he will be at the top of my list. I wish all attorneys cared as much as Brian does. You can literally go through hell because of a hospital’s negligence, and they will still tell you that you don’t have a case.
Owner response
Ms. Pruitt,
I am so sorry that we were not able to take your case. As Mr. Cathey told you, our attorneys did extensive research into similar cases to yours and were unable to find any that were successful. Because of this, the attorneys determined that we would not be able to recover any money for you and a case would therefore be without merit. Mr. Cathey also encouraged you to reach out to other attorneys in case you are able to find someone with a different opinion. I hope this helps clarify the firm's decision to not take your case. I can assure you that great care and consideration went into this decision.
Wishing you all the best,
Evelyn - Litigation Paralegal
I met Brian when he was a paralegal. We connected alot better than the actual lawyer. Very down to earth, humble guy. . He went out of his way to get the kids to smile. Would definitely hire if ever I'm need of an attorney again!
Everyone that I had contact with were wonderful! I reached out to Mr. Cathey’s firm for a matter that occurred in Florida. Mr. Cathey, Isaiah , and Evelyn took their time and resources to give me information and the name of a firm in Florida. If I ever need a firm in the Atlanta area they would be my first call! Thank you for your help!

Brian and his team are some of the most honest and down to earth people I've met. They are professional and do their best to make sure that their clients are taken care of and get a fair trial based off what is given to them. One of their paralegals, named Evie Hunt, has left a wonderful impression on me. She's not only hardworking, but she also holds a lot of passion when she works. She makes sure that the evidence is in order and presented correctly. If anything, she makes whichever trial she is working on go smoothly due to her hardwork and organizational skills. Overall, she's a great paralegal and Brian is very blessed and lucky to have her on his team.
This firm is such a pleasure to work with! Mr. Cathey and Mrs. Hunt will treat you like family. They are compassionate, competent, and thorough. Mrs. Hunt is so easy to talk to, super organized, and hard working! She is detail oriented and will go above and beyond to give you the best experience.
What a great law firm! Everyone is a team player at getting things done right! I have really enjoyed watching Evie blossom into a vital part of this firm. She has worked very hard and has been very successful.
