If you are shopping for a trust, and reading this, hello. It is true we can't make everyone happy. We have standards. We know we are not the right fit for everyone. Theresa and I spoke yesterday. She was lovely and delightful. But she decided that she lived too far away from my office. Additionally, she was calling to get a price. I was very upfront and told her we don't quote pricing over the phone, and that we're not the cheapest. <br><br>In nearly every call like Theresa's, I advise that there are many DIY options, and there are even some non lawyers selling trust services for not much money. I explain that my firm spends a lot of time with clients, we dig into their goals and objectives. We learn about family issues that could create problems down the road. We do what online services can't, and what cheap providers won't. We invest a lot of time asking questions and more questions so we can create tailored solutions for your family. <br><br>Having standards is great. Our clients are fantastic. We get to pick them. Admittedly, we don't work with everyone. First, we can't. And second, sometimes people have personality differences or expectations that are not achievable. It's great to be able to be selective. I want to enjoy my time with clients, and I want clients to enjoy their time with me.<br><br>I hope Theresa can find what she is looking for. I know there are 1,000,000 options for her, and there is a solution that will meet her needs. But this time, we are not that solution. If I was rude or insulting, I am sorry. That was not my intention. My hope was to encourage Theresa to continue searching for a solution that fits her needs.

Absolutely wonderful. 10/10, I absolutely recommend for everyone. Everyone there has been patient, kind, compassionate, and straightforward. They handle so much of the administrative stuff for us. Becca is a saint. They've really helped with a difficult situation and done everything they can to help. Down to earth and caring. I can't thank them enough.
Called California Probate and Trust because I had some probate-related questions. They were the third or fourth firm I called, and the first to answer the phone. Contacted California Probate and Trust and Dustin was very helpful explaining their process. He made me feel comfortable even though I had many questions! Working with Mr. Dustin was excellent. He explained our options including the pros and cons of each, and was very patient with our questions. From our first meeting, Dustin made what can feel like an overwhelming process very manageable. Estate planning is not something most people deal with often, and there are a lot of moving parts. He took the time to explain how a revocable living trust works, how it helps avoid probate, and why proper funding of the trust is just as important as drafting the documents themselves. He walked us through trustee selection, successor trustees, distributions, and how to think through allocations in a way that protects both assets and relationships.
He also helped us think carefully about medical directives, powers of attorney, and incapacity planning. These are not easy conversations, but Dustin approached them with clarity and professionalism. He made sure we understood not just what we were signing, but why it mattered and how it would function in real life.
One thing we appreciated most was his practical insight. More than anything, we now have peace of mind. We know our affairs are in order and that our family will be taken care of now and well into the future. We are grateful for Dustin’s guidance and would confidently recommend California Probate and Trust, PC to anyone looking for thoughtful and trustworthy estate planning support.
