Lack of Communication, Professionalism, and Follow-Through My experience with the Carter Law Firm was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Throughout my case from the start; communication was poor and I was rarely informed of important developments unless I repeatedly followed up via phone calls and emails. The Guardian ad Litem’s office and the opposing side's Law Office advised they attempted multiple times to contact Attorney Carter’s office with no response, which reflected poorly on me as a client. Discovery documents I submitted on time sat in their email for weeks and were not forwarded to opposing counsel on time, resulting in me being served multiple times, and I was later told I should have followed up to make sure that the office received and sent the documents which is unacceptable. Several discovery items were missing when sent, I never received requested discovery from the opposing party, and a preparation meeting was only attempted one week before my trial. Attorney Carter never spoke to me about a strategy for my case. Had I not called consistently, I would not have known my trial date or what was happening in my case. Due to ongoing lack of communication and zero accountability, I no longer have confidence in this firm and requested a refund. I was ignored when I requested a refund and nothing was resolved. I would absolutely not recommend this firm to anyone.
