Lack of Communication, Professionalism, and Follow-Through My experience with the Carter Law Firm was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Throughout my case from the start; communication was poor and I was rarely informed of important developments unless I repeatedly followed up via phone calls and emails. The Guardian ad Litem’s office and the opposing side's Law Office advised they attempted multiple times to contact Attorney Carter’s office with no response, which reflected poorly on me as a client. Discovery documents I submitted on time sat in their email for weeks and were not forwarded to opposing counsel on time, resulting in me being served multiple times, and I was later told I should have followed up to make sure that the office received and sent the documents which is unacceptable. Several discovery items were missing when sent, I never received requested discovery from the opposing party, and a preparation meeting was only attempted one week before my trial. Attorney Carter never spoke to me about a strategy for my case. Had I not called consistently, I would not have known my trial date or what was happening in my case. Due to ongoing lack of communication and zero accountability, I no longer have confidence in this firm and requested a refund. I was ignored when I requested a refund and nothing was resolved. I would absolutely not recommend this firm to anyone.

This is a generous man who provided a nice donation to ensure that students had an opportunity to experience a nice Homecoming. Will definitely recommend him.

Mr. Carter is an outstanding attorney who has practiced law in Mobile for many years. He is extremely knowledgeable in a wide range of legal matters and has always been available to answer any questions or address any concerns I’ve had. This is the exact same problem my family is having with this attorney! No or low communication. Gave him money 3 years ago, he asked for more and still haven't done anything! I'm about to file a complaint against him with Alabama Bar! He needs to refund the money so they can get a competent lawyer!

Never return your phone call and very deceptive

Mr.Jerome Carter is HORRIBLE!!! He was hired to handle a Probate case for my mother and boy was the ball dropped! He was inconsistent and lacked communication and comprehension from every angle. Over a 5 month period my mother constantly called his office inquiring about her case , there was either no answer, no call back or etc. She was never ever able to even see or speak to him the times she did go by his office. He waited 5 months later to even file a motion stating he was her retainer, and that's only because she was constantly calling their office to get updates. He did give her some of her money back and we went on to find another attorney but everything about this guy is bad...hell he cant even lie putting all the blame on his office staff...just take accountability buddy! Might just be time for him to retire because there's no way people are satisfied with his representation! If I could give a 0 out of 5 I would. God Bless!!!

My grandfather passed away due to an accident… my grandmother used Carter to assist with getting the payment from the insurance company to be awarded to her … a million phone calls and lies .. and delays… 5 years later .. my grandmother lost the case .. Carter played in our face this entire time .. if you need anything to go through probate court I would highly recommend using someone else . Even the judges were tired of him constantly not doing his job … not only has she lost the love of her life … she had an horrible experience with Carter . We trusted you and it got us no where .. but hey you got paid so I guess that’s all that’s matters …

Jerome Carter and God kept my friend from going to jail and I’m so thankful for that. But him and office needs to work on communication. He called my friend in court by the wrong name and was late. Just need to work on professionalism. But glad my friend not in jail:))
