Based on my experience, I would not recommend this firm. I found it extremely difficult to reach anyone by phone, and although I was repeatedly told I would receive a callback, that often did not happen. I spent a significant amount of time trying to speak with someone directly.
Communication felt unprofessional to me. On several occasions, phone calls were answered with what I perceived as an attitude, and interactions did not feel courteous.
When I asked for updates on my claim, I received different answers from different people, which made me feel that my case was not being handled in a coordinated or organized way. Overall, this was a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I DO NOT recommend
Please do yourself a favor and avoid Cohen and Siegel. I have been a client for a couple of years and their communication is horrendous. I asked for an update/if they needed anything from me countless times only to hear no. Then over a year passes, and I was asked for things from the year prior=not doing their job.
Informing Cohen and Siegel that my employer would not provide certain documents the firm needed from me, you would think they'd formally request on my behalf being my lawyer. No, they asked that I retrieve the documents knowing my employer would be hesistant to provide things I have a right to ask for.
I provided my number and e-mail so long ago for contact purposes. And now I am unable to reach them by phone, however, they refuse to discuss my case with me via e-mail, Zoom, etc., and have ignored my e-mails going on almost two weeks at this point. They need to be reported.
If you receive care from Dr. Hall (chiropractor) in Co-op City and they offer you this firm's card, throw it in the trash. I wish I never sought their service. I would have left, but I was unable to secure another lawyer due to the time that passed since my injury.
So far, I love them, especially my lawyer Jacob and Mr. Javier, who is always available to answer any questions. I've recommended them to several people and will continue to do so.
Unfortunately I am still working with this firm. Things started out great three years ago with me switching to them as my Workers Comp Attorney's. Its disheartening to see how they reduced my enthusiasm for there practice in handling my case. It wouldn't be fair to refer this firm to anyone as I have done in the past. Please get everything in writing. The appointed attorney wasn't even willing to determine what was best to suit my case, but left it up to me to pick a direction with improper follow ups with hearing, insurance carriers, Doctors, prior attorneys documents and client communications as if they were compensating me to do their work.
I have 2 worker's compensation cases with this law firms. And my attorney Jacob Miranda, and his legal assistants has all been diligent with dealing with all of my issues, and my concerns. They has always returned my calls and taken action toward the insurance company's in my cases. I have not settled on any case of yet. However, I'm very pleased so far.
