Stacy Townsend is amazing. She listened, didn’t judge, and worked out a resolution that was fair to all involved. She is a really great attorney and I was lucky to have her help. This organization is a godsend for the community and anyone who says otherwise must be over privileged and/or mad that someone was willing to help the tenant they were hoping to be rid of.

They represent criminals, Justice is not in their books. Truth is irrelevant and fairness is nonexistent. They try to split a hair and muddy the issue.

If I could give 1,000 stars, I would. I am so happy and satisfied with the attention they have given us since the day they decided to take my mom's case. The road wasn't short, but it was worth the wait, thank God. They managed to get my mom out of immigration detention at the Mesa Verde Detention Center in Bakersfield in February 2019, after my mom had turned herself in to immigration at the border crossing between Tijuana and San Ysidro, California, in October 2017. They didn't grant her parole because, "according to" the judge, she was a risk of not showing up in court again. Thank God these lawyers went to the detention center where my mom was being held to review immigration cases and they were interested in her case. I still remember that day; my mom called me crying with emotion, and that's where the fight to get her out of detention began. And although the lawyer, Tess Feldman, is no longer working at this legal center, I want to emphasize that I will always be there for her. I am grateful to Attorney Tess Feldman for all the support she gave us and for helping us secure bail for my mother so she could fight her asylum case outside of detention. When my mother was released, she already had a petition filed by my older sister, a U.S. citizen, and after more than five years, today, December 8, 2022, my mother received her permanent resident card!
I also want to thank Attorney Martha, my mother's current attorney, who helped us a lot. She always advised and guided my mother to achieve positive results, and I want to thank the entire team at Community Legal Services in East Palo Alto. I truly admire these people who helped my mother so much. We will be forever grateful. May God protect and bless them always.
I also want to tell those who haven't had a good experience with these lawyers that not all cases are the same. Personally, my mother's case seemed very difficult to me for certain reasons, but thanks to God and these lawyers, they did the impossible for my mother. Thank you again, thank you so much!

CLSEPA is the bone of our community!
It happened a lot during the pandemic in my family. In order to seek a bright future for my family, I have no choice but to be in a fighting mood to try to recover everything back. During this process, we received a lot of support and help from our community. I was amazed by CLSEPA'S determination and efficiency. I appreciate all the kindness and encouragement from CLSEPA to support us to go through this situation, and finally to find solutions to overcome all the difficulties.
I thank Ms.Townsend and Mr. Fitzsimmons's supports during the whole process. First of all, I thank you for always prompt communication responses. Secondly, I thank you for always professionally guiding me to navigate the law in California. Last but not least, I thank you for supporting me with the effective and efficient solutions for my family's current situation.
I hope everything will be going very well with the CLSEPA!
