I really wish I could explain how awful of an experience I had with this firm. To sum it up, Aaron Gwilliam’s incompetency personally cost me over $30,000 in additional legal fees and unnecessary alimony. I’ll explain below. I came to Aaron with a very basic, cut and dry divorce case. No real assets. No tangible argument on custody. We prepared for the hearing on temporary orders and he had me fill out a financial declaration while sitting at his office. No instructions, no guidance on anything throughout my case. I didn’t know it at the time, but he left me completely exposed and unprepared for the raging fight ahead. When we went the the hearing for temp orders, the commissioner raked us over the coals. Because Aaron failed to prepare for the hearing, I ended up paying my ex husband $1000/month in Alimony for a year and I paid 100% of childcare expenses, medical out of pocket, and child support; on a 50/50 custody case where our incomes were essentially the same! In fact, for the 7 out of the 8 years we were married my ex out earned me but somehow I got slammed into paying him. When we came out after getting ruined by the commissioner, Aaron tried to sheepishly back out of my case by saying he hurt his arm and might have to have surgery sometime soon. It took an additional year and additional twenty thousand to resolve my divorce case; a case that would have gone exponentially smoother had he just done his job as an attorney. Do not hire him or this firm. Having gone through the process extensively, I wish I could take it all back.
