If you are in Ocala and dealing with an injunction or any criminal defense issue, hiring this attorney is the smartest decision you can make. These cases can destroy your reputation, your freedom, your ability to work, and your future — and you do not get a second chance to handle them correctly.
From the first call, it was obvious we were
dealing with someone operating at a completely different level than most attorneys. He was sharp, aggressive when needed, incredibly prepared, and treated the situation with the seriousness it deserves.
Injunction cases move fast, the stakes are high, and most people have no idea what they’re walking into until it’s too late. He knew exactly how to navigate the court process in Marion County, how to challenge the allegations, and how to protect my rights every step of the way.
In court, he was confident, strategic, and clearly respected. The outcome could not have gone better, and I genuinely believe that without his representation, things could have gone very differently.

I spoke to a gentleman from the firm this morning. He was rude disrespectful and he totally did not even seem like he was interested in even trying to work any type of deal for me. I immediately got off the phone with him and I will not be using this firm at all.

Hello Dontaye- Just so everyone reading this has the facts, we were first contacted about your case by your friend on August 8. We reached back out to him on August 17. Between August 17 and August 19 we had at least 3 phone calls and 45 text messages with you and your friend. All of this was to work out a deal for you. Specifically, in those text messages we agreed to take a smaller down payment than normal to accommodate your budget. We also agreed to smaller monthly payments than usual to accommodate your budget. Like we do for ALL of our clients, we did all we could for you & when it was time to make a down payment, you backed off & then filed this review a week later. We did all we could to work with you, but when it came time to get the deal done you decided to back out. Sometimes that’s how business goes. I had no clue you would get so emotional about it, but to say we didn’t try to work with you is absolutely incorrect.

I am still yet waiting to get a phone call from the lawyer. It has been a very big disappointment that they can answer the phone when you haven’t made a payment, yet after that’s settled they haven’t even been available to give updates or most importantly represent the actual client. They haven’t even shown up to the virtual calls. I really don’t understand how they have 5 stars.

So good to hear from you, Aurora, but you are not our client. <br>For those reading this review, Aurora called and emailed after 5 pm on a Friday evening & is upset that her call was not returned by 10 AM on Saturday morning. Staff members at DefendOcala have spoken with Aurora multiple times. Aurora claims to be the sister of a client who is currently in the Marion County Jail. Aurora is one of at least 3 people claiming to be family members of this client and all of them have been informed *several* times in *multiple* phone calls with *multiple* members of our staff (including myself) that the client's next court date isn't until February 19. <br>To minmize miscommunication and repetitive phone calls, we requested that *one* person from the family be selected as the point of contact, yet we continue to get *multiple* calls from *multiple* family members. This includes calls and emails after hours and on weekends (such as the one that prompted this review), despite the fact that the family has been told multiple times the status of the client's cases and that her next court date isn't for almost 3 weeks. <br>Perhaps you are new to the court system, Aurora, so let me explain this to you in writing since you didn't get it the last time we spoke on the phone- Your alleged family member is in jail because she missed court before she hired us & the court put out a warrant for her arrest. Her case is set for court on February 19. That date is set by the clerk of the court, not by us. If you call the clerk after hours on a Friday, you will not get a response by Saturday morning. This is because the courts are CLOSED on the weekends. This includes judges, prosecutors, and clerks taking time in the evenings & on the weekends to handle personal business and care for their families. <br>We at DefendOcala also have families and need to take that time, as well. Nevertheless, we still regularly squeeze in work on the weekends. In fact, your family member's lead attorney had a video meeting with a client at 10:15 this Saturday morning. <br>Additionally, like many business owners, I also regularly work throughout the weekends. But over the years I've learned that it is best to try to give myself a 24-hour weekend break (or at least a full Saturday morning) to rest and recharge, so we can continue providing the excellent legal representation that we are known for & that our clients deserve. <br>This fairly nominal break is designed to not only help us stay sharp, but is specifically taken on the weekends because we know that - no matter what you have to say in your Friday night call - absolutely nothing can be done over the weekend. Why? Because, as stated above, the courts are CLOSED on the weekends.<br>Turning to your specific complaint, because we have spoken to you and other family members multiple times in recent days, and because the courts are closed for the weekend, there is absolutely no earthly reason for us to return a call to you after hours on a Friday night to go over the same issues you and other family members have raised on every other call. With your family member being in custody for the last couple of weeks, there is no chance of there being any new information that you could offer on her case that hasn't already been disucssed. Therefore, there is no reason for us to violate our own boundaries & interrupt the small portion of the weekend that we try to keep for ourselves to return a call that you did not make until after hours on a Friday evening. <br>If you want to be given respect and have your calls returned promptly, I would request that you show the same respect by respecting people's time, taking into account the fact that - like everyone else - attorneys have lives outside of work, and listening to what you are told when we do speak to you. If you can do that, it will save everyone a lot of frustration. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
