My rating is a first impression in the area of consumer service. I called the Group Monday morning to request a consultation for tax law. The secretary (I'm assuming) took my information and stated an attorney would contact me. I waited until Wednesday morning to follow up after not receiving a callback. She stated she remembered me and had forwarded my information. She asked me to hold to attempt to reach someone but doubted she would. After a brief hold a male attorney came on the line sounding uninterested and perturbed. I repeated I was hoping to schedule a consultation for aid in tax law. He then gave me the rate per hour and retainer. I stated "okay". Then silence. So finally I asked, "Can I schedule a consultation and bring my information to determine if you're able to assist me?" Again sounding perturbed he answers, "Well yeah I guess I could do a 30 min consultation, but the rate is the company policy." Sir, I appreciate you giving me your rates upfront, however can I consult with someone to determine if they can take my case? Also you likely then should be able to give me an estimate of your hours of services needed, so I could have an estimate of total cost. This is the first time Ive ever had an attorney (in any area of practice) not consult in person or even via the phone (if they're understandably worried about wasting their time) to determine if they are able to assist a potential client. In short, the brief experience was very unwelcoming and it appeared he wanted to deter me from using their services. It was odd to say the least and I decided to continue my search for a local attorney. Again, my review is strictly based on what I stated above and I am unable to judge qualifications or experiences with case resolution.
