How we compiled this: CrashStory aggregates public Google reviews, Colorado crash records from CDOT and local agencies, and firm-provided profile data. We do not endorse any firm. Review intelligence scores are derived from automated sentiment and theme analysis of public reviews — treat them as one signal among many, not a verdict.

So far so good Lisa has been very helpful in getting my process started
After a bad medical experience that put my husband at risk for paralysis or death we reached out to several law firms to determine whether we had a case. When we contacted Hastings Law firm our initial consultation was with Nathan, who was kind and caring and a good listener. The second person we interacted with was Lisa Mantellini who was helpful, kind and informative. We still don’t know if we have a case but we feel better knowing that kind people are listening and looking into our situation.
Lisa is amazing and easy to work with. She helped me feel comfortable in a very uncomfortable situation.

I cannot say enough about Tommy Hastings and his entire law firm. Specifically Tommy himself and Shannon. During one of the most devastating times in our life—the loss of my daughter—they went far beyond what I ever expected from an attorney and their team. From the very beginning, they treated me with genuine compassion, patience, and understanding, never making me feel like just another case. Tommy and his staff showed a level of care and concern that truly set them apart. They took the time to listen, to support, and to guide me through every step with both professionalism and heartfelt empathy. In a situation no family should ever have to endure, they brought a sense of comfort and reassurance that meant more than words can express. I only wish more attorneys approached their clients with the same level of humanity, kindness, and dedication. I am deeply grateful for everything they did for me and my family, and I will never forget the way they stood by us when we needed it most.

When I first contacted Hastings on January 20th, Nathalie Galindo took my call. She first made it sound like the fact that I got treatment that mostly resolved my injury from a different doctor somehow disqualified me from seeking restitution from the parties who caused it. She was trying to only get basic info, but without full context, it's not clear why I believe I have a case. Luckily, I did convince her to let me Email her a written description of what led me to seek legal help, which was a writeup I already had meant for a complaint to the Texas Medical Board that I’m about to submit. I was told that I would hear back about whether someone could take my case the next day. Two days later, I sent a follow-up Email because I hadn't heard anything yet. Still without a response, I called back on the fourth day. I got someone else, who promised they’d have Nathalie call me back. I wasn't available at the time she called the next morning, and she didn’t leave a voicemail message. She did send an Email, but the entire text of the Email is “Reviewing Ms. [last name]- No worries”. That’s not even a complete sentence. She had been writing in complete sentences in our Email exchanges before, so that was pretty irritating. I Emailed her back for clarification and got no response. I wasn't able to call back again until Wednesday, January 29th. Again, no more clarification from Nathalie in the meantime. I called the next day, and a different intake specialist answered, so I asked her to have Nathalie call me back. That intake specialist somehow got the impression that Nathalie was waiting for some kind of timeline from me, but all the dates were in the document I sent. Nathalie called me back later that day, and it honestly sounded like she didn't do anything at all with the information I sent her. She seemed to have forgotten if she still even had it at first, claiming that they were really busy. But to let it sit for 9 days without doing anything is egregious, especially when I've been getting responses from every other lawyer within two business days. She called me back again Thursday (January 30th) morning while I was unavailable. And again, she didn't leave a voicemail message, but I did get some poorly written text messages from her. She even wrote the firm's phone number incorrectly in one of them. And she did send another Email, incorrectly claiming that I'm outside of the statute of limitations. I am admittedly cutting it close for a lot of reasons, but I still have two months. Once I was finally able to talk to her after running some errands, she again tried to claim that I was outside of my statute of limitations by referencing the date I was diagnosed by a completely different medical provider. After clarifying that I had no intention of taking legal action against the doctor who originally diagnosed me, and that I only included that information for context, she then said that it was too late to start a case because they need 5-6 months to get medical records, even though I already have all of them. She said that they don't trust anybody and get all the medical records themselves. I explained that I've also done medical records requests myself, and they've only taken a few weeks. She then said that they're "sealed" medical records and that the firm is "very good" at what they do. The audacity of that woman to say that to me after the runaround she gave me is astounding. Even better, the homepage of Hastings' website states a much shorter timeframe, as seen in my screenshot. Edit to address Hastings' response: You wouldn't know if there was a chance of a successful claim because Nathalie was determined to turn me away from the outset, and a lawyer never saw what I wrote. Please don't lie to me. Maybe Nathalie is "experienced", but it's certainly not in high quality work. You seem to think that I am only upset about the decision, even though I described a series of unprofessional behavior on Nathalie's part, including poorly written messages, ignoring what I sent her, and providing incorrect information.
Owner response
We're sorry you had a disappointing experience, Kris. After reviewing your situation, we determined there was no viable claim under Texas medical malpractice laws. Nathalie is an experienced member of our team who evaluates hundreds of potential cases - if there was any chance of a successful claim, we would have pursued it or referred you to another firm that could help.

Updated Response:
Chris, we understand your frustration, and we genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your concerns with us. We want to address your follow-up comments because we believe there may be some misunderstanding about our process.

Our intake specialists, including Nathalie, work directly with our attorneys and follow established protocols that have been refined over many years of practice. Every potential case that comes through our doors is evaluated according to strict legal criteria, and our intake team is specifically trained to identify viable claims.

We'd like you to consider this from a business perspective: our firm's success depends entirely on our ability to identify and pursue meritorious cases. If we employed individuals who routinely turned away strong cases, or if our evaluation process was flawed, it would fundamentally undermine our practice and cost us significantly in lost opportunities. Our intake specialists are incentivized to find viable cases, not to dismiss them.

While we understand that our decision was disappointing, and we recognize that our communication could have been more timely and clear, we stand behind our evaluation. When someone with Nathalie's experience and training, working within our established system, determines that a case doesn't meet the threshold for medical malpractice under Texas law, that assessment is based on legal standards rather than personal judgment.

We truly wish we could have provided you with a different answer, and we hope you're able to find the resolution you're seeking.

When I needed to explore a potential healthcare malpractice claim I contacted several firms after thorough online research. The Hastings law firm immediately stood out. Their intake person took a genuine interest in my case and sounded like they were actually listening not just waiting to get me off the phone. Hastings provided honest guidance and explained the legal requirements clearly. Although my case ultimately didn't meet the legal threshold they did treat me with professionalism and respect throughout the process and never made me feel unimportant during such a stressful situation. I would absolutely recommend Hastings Law Firm to anyone who's found themselves on a similar situation with a claim against a healthcare provider.
