I would not recommend this attorney's office for family law. Maybe personal injury that seems to be where their best reviews are but definitely not family. I utilized the services of Allen & Abaray for a family matter. While the cost was somewhat high I had received positive recommendations about their work so the price was not a significant concern for me. My concerns arose after signing the contract as they indicated they would not file a motion until the previous motion was fully paid. Therefore, do not anticipate filing any emergency motions or contempt of court motions unless your account is fully settled. PLEASE review the extensive contract. I successfully filed and won 3 contempt of court motions.My spouse was ordered to cover ALL attorney's fees, court costs, and fines. Allen notified me that my account was past due $2800 and required immediate payment. and that I would need to pursue reimbursement from my spouse through legal channels, as this was stipulated in our agreement. There were also two instances where Janie, the paralegal, inadvertently applied another client's balance to my bill, where I had to call to have corrected. I also printed all of my own copies to avoid the 40 cents per page charge, and yet I was still charged for copies I had already provided. To summarize, Allen & Abaray initiated legal action against me seeking $2,800, in addition to substantial fees, escalating the total claim to over $6,000. This action pertains to an obligation that my spouse was legally mandated to fulfill.

Allen and Abary billed me roughly five times what my wife’s attorney charged her. His retainer was 2000 but special case for me was 5000. There are bogus charges such as spending a half hour to look over her witness list. There were no witnesses. Mr. Allen never contacted my ex wife’s legal representative to negotiate anything on my behalf (confirmed) I worked out all the details, then at the arraignment he started “negotiating” so he could charge more(confirmed). The process took 25 minutes his “negotiation” took 3 hours. That tactic resulted additional money for her legal fees. There are reviews that say he’s biased to the women. Based on his “negotiating” I would say is very true. The women seem to think he’s great in their reviews, but they’re creepy and unprofessional innuendos. He also tried to convince me it was better for the state to garnish my wages. I’m guessing he makes a percentage(unconfirmed). He stretched and wrung out every possible cent he could from me. I never felt as though he had my best interest. Janie his paralegal is extremely blunt with a sharp attitude. She makes you feel like you’re some sort of troublesome chore. I wanted to fire him but then I would have to pay some other retainer fee. It was 14000 altogether. My wife spent 2500. She won. You tell me. Shop around this guy is not in it for you. Sorry for the long post hope this saves some of you other dudes my experience.

I am at the beginning of my divorce process and so far my Lawyer William Allen has come through for me and I am thankful. He has been sympathetic and provided as much comfort as he could for a father missing his son. After my wife filing false accusations against me through injunctions he came to my rescue and got both of them thrown out. I was hesitant because of some of the reviews her and it just goes to show don't always believe what you read. Our next step is to get me my son back so I can see him smile and jump and say beautiful nonsensical things. I can definately say that God and Jesus was with us in court today and they blessed us with our win. I finally got the court order to go get my boy from PA and am now in possession of my boy. Again thank you Mr. Allen you are a rock star!!!

Mr Allen came highly recommended, and hired and paid. Waited for months on end for him to get with opposing party. Never did. Made us drop injunctions to which my son, myself and husband have been stalked, threatened to be killed and our son has been snatched by the opposing party multiple times during physican visits due to our son being very sick. He did nothing. I handed him his entire case along with DCF and my steps sons doctors. He never filed one motion except an emergency to remove, that looked like my 6 year old typed up or a parenting plan. He allowed opposing party to do whatever they wanted and in turn made our life’s hell. He continued to miss calls and appointments. When we put our foot down he dismissed us stating “he doesn’t have time for this type of custody case.” This needs to be known. He is absolutely a moms attorney and not for the dad even after the binders and Zip drives full of evidence to win this case very easily. Make sure you interview this man throughly. We hired an attorney who took over immediately and took care of all of our issues with the opposing party. Please make sure you interview him. If you need an aggressive fighter for your children and family, he’s not the one.
