I just want to start by saying; “There are truly angels here on earth!” Attorney Taft Hughes, has been that angel for my family. My husband and I were renting a home from a realtor company here in Alabama for 7yrs the same home. After 7 years this company wanted to increase our rent over $700+ dollars in as little as 2 weeks with no written notice only verbal communication. After 7 yrs of being the most exceptional tenants never late on a rent payments, keeping the house in immaculate condition as if it was our own they bullied us into leaving with our 6 children. As you can imagine this took the biggest toll on our family. To make matters worse this company tried to keep our security deposit. But, we’re so thankful for Mr.Taft, the month this happened I called his office and explained all the details, he informed me of our rights and coached me every step of the way. He kept in contact with me to make sure this company wasn’t abusing their rights as landlords. Here we are a few months later and Mr.Taft has represented our family and we finally reached a reasonable settlement. Our family and I are no longer renting. They refused to communicate to resolve an issue. Told me many times they would call me back and never did. Ignored my emails. Pathetic! All they care about is screwing people over and making money, not justice and people's constitutional rights to due process! I'm completely disgusted with them and so are many many other people I've talked to.

A horrible company to do business with. Understand that they have a client but to add additional fees and give you no excuse for them is insane. Either pay or return keys! How do you go from 3200 to 4200 with no explanation?? Judge will have to decide and tell me to do so

Very unreasonable, predatory, only interested in extracting money from middle to low class citizens, not willing to act in good faith. Fees are set in a way that you have no choice but to be evicted. In this economy the masses are living check to check so how would a person acquire or obtain 4 months of rent to satisfy 2 months in arrears? Money doesn't grow on trees, if the bill is $3200 and Lee & Hughes won't accept $2400 as good faith until 7 days later for the remaining $800, then they are clearly predatory to want to add $1000 to the $3200 making it $4200. Monthly rent is $950 where is the $3150 coming from? The sky? I work for a paycheck. I don't do anything illegal and I don't have the luxury of a savings account. I'm just super to get out with my 3 daughters because only have 75% of this outrageous predatory markup. How can I be responsible for legal fees unless a judge mandates that order. Must have been a predatory lease.

They don't return calls or emails in a timely fashion.

I only spoke to the receptionist and she was able to point me in the right direction of the type of lawyer I would need she was very knowledgeable and very friendly she was quite pleasant to deal with and if the rest of the company is anything like the receptionist I would highly recommend this place.
