I contacted Nelson Elder Care Law regarding a probate matter. The initial phone call was excellent, and the start of the process felt organized, professional, and reassuring. Based on that early experience, I felt confident moving forward. Unfortunately, communication has since come to a complete standstill. The client portal is not updated with my case, despite being told I could track progress there. I have left voicemails, sent emails, and have now gone over a week with no response of any kind. What is most frustrating is the sudden lack of follow-up after such a strong beginning. I understand that law firms are busy, but basic communication and status updates are essential, especially for time-sensitive probate matters. After reading the firm’s high ratings, I’m honestly confused, as my recent experience does not reflect that level of service. I hope this review encourages the firm to improve communication with existing clients, because the potential is clearly there—but right now, responsiveness is severely lacking.

This has been overall the worst experience possible We have been involved with this firm for over nine months. We started the probate process, paid our initial fee, did all we were asked to do, were told we would have to pay additional fees which we did. Then radio silence and when I called and called and finally got through I was told our case worker was no longer there. No one had reached out to us to let us know-no email, no call not even an update in the app they want you to use. I finally spoke to someone who assured me that probate was still moving forward. Funny thing is by this time we had already sold the property and closed on it. Turns out we didn’t even need to enter into probate- and our original person had all the paperwork and should have been able to see this. I spoke with another gentleman who asked what did I think they could do to make things right- I said I need a refund- at the very least for the additional fees that were collected after it should have been obvious that probate wasn’t needed Instead I was told that another property in another state would need to be probated and that he would have someone get back to me that next week with names of someone who could help in that state. Two weeks later after many messages both by phone and in the app I was told that they were still working on it. By this time I had spoken with someone in several offices in the state the property was located and figured out we didn’t need to be in probate there either. Once again I asked for a refund but was instead redirected again. I researched how to file to end probate but that would have meant more money out pocket so I contacted Nelson Elder care once again to inquire on closing probate. That was over 2 months ago and we are still waiting with very little to no communication unless I call or text multiple times. This company has truly taken advantage of the fact that we needed someone to help us with a process that we had little to no knowledge of. We counted on them to be diligent and well versed in this process. Instead they took advantage, took our money and have basically abandoned us to figure it out on our own.

Meeting with the lawyers at this firm has enlightened me on the choices I could make for handling my estate. They made everything clear and prepared the documents in accordance with my request. They were laid out in a simple manner for signing. I also am comfortable that they will.be there for.future questions or concerns from myself or the people named in my documents. I highly recommend their services especially after comparing with the fiasco my friend had somewhere else.

Kimberly was amazing in getting my parent's trust completed. The process was well explained by Danielle and communication from the Nelson group was professional and quick. Highly recommend!
