My divorce was very high conflict but ProLegal walked me through each step. I always received prompt answers and guidance as to the many steps in a divorce. ProLegal fought for me and my children in the courtroom. I highly recommend ProLegal.
Owner response
Melody, we appreciate your feedback and your business. Thank you for trusting in us - we're glad we could be there when your family needed us!
I submitted roughly three inquires through the website in the past month or so, but never received a response of any kind. I called the office yesterday to follow up, and was told they could not represent me due to a conflict of interest. I asked for explaination of the conflict of interest or recommendations for another attorny. I was informed they were unable to cite the conflict of interest, then the call was ended. No explaination or recommations given.
I understand the importance of maintaining ethical standards, and in my own professional role, it is possible for relationships to potentially overlap and create such a concern. If I had cause to believe the claim was valid, then its an easy move in the next direction. What I don't understand is the unwillingness to be transparent or helpful. It felt like I was a burden on who I was speaking with or that I was expected to know things I didn't. For a parent seeking help for a distressful situation, the dismissiveness and lack of empathy was palpatable and disappointing.
At best this looks like a misunderstanding, at worst it feels like discrimination. The customer service experience of being declined for an unsubstantiated reason with no opportunity for clarification was frustrating. It felt like I was wrong for wanting to advocate for myself and my child, and rather than offering hope of getting experienced representation, my experiences and beliefs that family court looks down on fathers were further reinforced instead.
Regarding the response:
This is a prime example of DARVO (deny, attack, reverse victim/offender), the same tactics used by the Trump and Co., and the response follows this to a T.
The claim of multiple contacts over many years is unsubtantiated and simply false. One call approaximately three years ago is not multiple calls.
It is fact that the firm does not currently employ anyone with whom a conflict of interst could occur. No need to assume.
The accusation of me speaking aggressively is also 100% false. I speak how I write.
One previous review that I chose to remove is not "multiple." It was seeing the false accusations in their first response that prompted a more detailed response.
It's baffling that a firm would prefer to perpetuate a negative interaction with defensiveness and lies rather than a form of resolution that could be easily achieved. The inability to respond to criticism professionally is a signifcant tell.
Owner response
Hi Nathan. You have contacted us multiple times over many years, and we have told you every time that we cannot represent you. You have made your own assumptions about why we can't represent you and have spoken to our staff members aggressively and you have left us multiple negative reviews because we have followed the ethical practices of our profession. You have refused to take no for an answer despite there being dozens of other firms that you could consult with instead of us. We represent fathers successfully regularly, as our reputation and our five-star reviews reflect. We do not represent people who treat our staff poorly.
Natalie was super unprofessional & a liar. Didn't sent any confirmation email to follow up with my appointment. On top of that was very nasty over the phone. I don't recommend.
Owner response
Hi Aris. We sent both emails and text messages to your friend asking for a response and those messages were ignored, so we canceled his appointment. Our staff member did not deserve to be screamed and cursed at over the phone by you in response..
I just finished my divorce and attorney Townsend and his staff did an excellent job from beginning to end. They respond quickly when you reach out with questions and found creative solutions to every issue. I am very glad I chose him to represent me.
Attorney Townsend was truly exceptional, both professionally and personally. He previously helped my brother successfully gain custody of his minor daughter, and when my brother unexpectedly passed, I turned to Attorney Townsend again to help me obtain guardianship of my niece.
Because I live out of state, the situation could have been complicated and overwhelming, but Attorney Townsend made the entire process smooth and efficient. He was knowledgeable, responsive, and handled everything with care and urgency. Thanks to his guidance, we were able to get the guardianship finalized quickly during a very difficult time.
What meant even more to our family was his kindness. Attorney Townsend took the time to remember my brother and even mentioned how happy my brother would have been with the outcome. That compassion, combined with his wisdom and skill as an attorney, made an incredibly hard season a little easier.
Our family is deeply grateful for everything he did for us. His impact went far beyond legal work.
Owner response
Thank you so much for trusting us when your family needed help. We appreciate your business and your kind words about our team.
I have had Attorney Townsend and his staff represent me on multiple occasions. He is by far the best attorney I have ever worked with. There are no secrets, everything from what is going to happen, to what happened is covered. Billing is extremely meticulous and has helped me on more than one occasion. I know that I am not through and will not hesitate to reach out to Attorney Townsend and his team. Simply the best.
I would give them a million stars!!! We live in Arizona and they helped us with an out of state custody issue of an infant, my grand daughter. They went above and beyond to help us get her back to Arizona. Zach is such a professional and took our calls early in the morning and late in the evening. I couldn't say enough about his legal professionalism. Thank you!!! God Bless your firm. Barbara Andersen

Thank you so much for trusting us with your case, we appreciate your business!
Was in a position over the weekend to assist my Partner with speaking to an attorney about her “in flight” divorce. Received a referral from an attorney friend for a lawyer at this firm (Zachary Townsend). Reviews were just OK, but I trusted the referral.
Reached out via email over the weekend asking to setup a consultation (my partner was working over the weekend). On the Pro side, someone from the office left me a voicemail on Sunday touching base and asking me to call back on Monday AM. On Monday AM I called, thanked the person for reaching out on a Sunday. She asked what the consultation was about, and I shared that it was a divorce that is about a year into the process. We made an appointment for several days in the future. I was asked to fill out an “intake sheet” and paid for the consultation in advance.
This is where things got bizarre.
I completed the intake form right after the call. Added my Partners info (name, phone, address, etc) and case number. Submitted. Within minutes I get a VERY upset call from the office. I’m asked why I “misrepresented” that this was MY divorce and why my Partner didn’t setup this consultation herself.
I was trying to help my Partner. And I figured discussing her case with the attorney is what happens in the consultation, NOT on the phone with an office staffer. I calmly explained that there was nothing fishy going on here, and handed the phone to my Partner, who was sitting nearby. The office person continued to complain about our “sketchy” behavior, and told my Partner that “if I keep this consultation under NO circumstances can THAT MAN be on the phone, nor can you discuss your case with him”. My Partner said “What are you talking about - he’s with me through this process”.
Bam - office staff cancelled consultation, refunded my payment, and let me know that they had cancelled everything due to “misrepresentation”. Mind you - we literally spoke on the phone for 60 secs total.
Very strange - just be aware that this is the kind of bizarre, accusatory treatment you will likely receive if you choose to work with this firm. Feels like I dodged a bullet, especially in light of the other reviews.
And yes, I did call the staff member disturbed, as her behavior was unhinged both to me and my Partner separately. Never realized setting up a call appt for a Partner was going to set your staff off so badly. Very unprofessional and others should understand what they are going to have to deal with if they reach out to you.
Owner response
Hi Kip. We can't schedule with 3rd parties and you claimed that this was your divorce in our initial call. It doesn't matter if you are speaking with a staff member or an attorney - we still need accurate information. At no time in our call did we say "that man" or forbid your partner from speaking to you about the case, we told her that the attorney would need to speak to her directly and privately in order to ensure attorney client privilege. You called our staff member "mentally ill" for trying to verify basic facts about this case and ensure that attorney client privilege remained intact for a consultation.
My experience was absolutely horrible the secretary is one of the rudest people I have ever met I had a person with me who needed help and wanted to make an appointment and he had walked to his office his wife just passed and this person had no compassion at allllll we called for an appointment like she asked and she cursed at me and hung up the phone I do not recommend this law firm to anyone. They have no compassion or empathy and are heartess and rude. The gentleman I was helping said he had never been treated that way in his life. Maybe this office should revaluate the way they treat people I would give 0 stars if I could.
Owner response
Hi Liz. We are appointment-only, which is printed on our door, and we keep our door locked at all times. You pounded on our door and yelled until we came to the door even though it says "by appointment only" clearly. When we came to the door and told you that you needed to call and make an appointment, you called and yelled at our office staff and called her names over the phone. We've reviewed the call records and you weren't "cursed at". You then went next door to an unrelated business and lied to them, telling them that you were a client of ours, knowing that you and your friend are not clients. We do not even practice the type of law for the case that you have. We do not allow anyone to scream at our office staff or behave threateningly to try to gain access inside of our office. We take our staff's safety seriously, and your behavior today is an example of why we are so careful.
As a father, I knew the odds were stacked against me, but Zachary Townsend at Pro Legal Care LLC made the impossible happen. In under six months, he successfully got an order of protection dropped and helped me obtain temporary full custody of my child—something that rarely happens for men. His dedication, expertise, and strategic approach gave me the best possible outcome, and I’m beyond grateful. If you’re a father fighting for your rights, I highly recommend Zachary Townsend. He truly fights for his clients and gets results!
