I called The Gold Law Firm in November after I was rear ended with a friend's recommendation and referral, seeking counsel and aid. The first time I spoke with someone it was named that I would hear back from a lawyer or someone else in the office the following week, on Monday. When I didn't receive that phone call, I called them back. I was told to be patient and to send them an email with some documents so that they could build up my case. They also asked me to give them time because it was right around the holiday (Thanksgiving) and their lawyers were out of the office/out of town, but that I would get a call back from someone the following week. That call, nor update, never came. 2 weeks passed and since I didn't hear anything, I decided to give them a call back. I let them know I would like an update, any update, and shared that I would need to seek legal representation elsewhere because the radio silence was unprofessional. They shared that they would give me a call on the following Monday, which came and went, and via email they let me know they'd need more time to review my case and they would give me a call the following day. On Tuesday I missed their call, returned it, just to be told, "This case is not of economic value to us. And because we are a small firm, we recommend you seek counsel elsewhere." I was devastated and disappointed, especially since it took them a month to share this news with me. I asked what number did I have to hit for my case to be worthwhile to them, and there was no answer. Which clearly wasn't the case. Via email I received a letter declining my case... AND the letter wasn't even addressed to me. It was for another client, which I had to state myself. This entire experience was incredibly unprofessional and beyond disappointing. If they had just called me back when they said they could instead of what felt like stringing me on for a month, I could have sought counseling somewhere else. I have since found representation that is responsive, communicative, and making me feel that my case and I are important.
