Dora from The Lex Firm was very professional and helped me retain my drivers license. I’m very happy with her service and would recommend her a million times over!
I'm very disappointed with their services regarding my dismissed case. Be careful; they seem mainly focused on money, not resolution. Update - I feel I was threatened and taken advantage of by this firm. Consumer beware. I am still taking action on this case but want to ensure other consumers/clients understand the issues. I am writing to formally contest the legal fees charged in the matter of my case, as they appear to be excessive and inconsistent with ethical billing practices. The invoiced amount raises significant concerns regarding transparency, reasonableness, and adherence to professional standards. The billed hours appear disproportionate to the complexity of the matter. The American Bar Association’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 1.5, mandates that fees be reasonable, considering factors such as the time and labor required, the novelty of the legal issues, and the skill necessary. The charges in this case do not align with these criteria. Furthermore, there is evidence of potential duplicative billing. Multiple attorneys appear to have charged for the same or overlapping tasks, such as "Communications with the client", without clear justification for their simultaneous involvement. This practice inflates costs unnecessarily and violates the principle of client-centered representation. In light of these issues, I request a detailed breakdown of all charges, including specific tasks, time entries, and the credentials of personnel involved. Additionally, I propose a revised invoice reflecting reasonable and customary rates for the services provided. Should this matter remain unresolved, I am prepared to escalate the issue to the appropriate state bar association for review under applicable ethics rules. After a thorough review of the invoices and services rendered, I have identified several discrepancies that warrant correction. These concerns are grounded in principles of reasonable billing as outlined in the American Bar Association’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct, Rule 1.5, and applicable state ethics guidelines. Specifically, I object to the following: 1. $1,500 Flat Fee: The imposition of a $1,500 flat fee is neither justified nor supported by the scope of work performed. It was also never communicated, nor is it documented in the contract. This charge appears analogous to billing for services not rendered, as no documentation substantiates its applicability. 2. Pre-Agreement Hours: Billing for hours prior to the execution of a fee agreement is improper and contravenes standard practice, as no contractual obligation existed at that time. Additionally, I was consulting and interviewing other attorneys from 2/14/2025 to 2/21/2025. I had not committed to Dora in any form. LegalShield also provided for consultation hours with potential attorneys. 3. Non-Substantive Communications: The invoices include hours for scheduling-related emails, texts, and phone calls, including instances where I was placed on hold or calls were interrupted and rescheduled. These administrative tasks are not billable as substantive legal work. 4. Delayed Invoicing: The firm’s delay in providing invoices—up to one month after my requests—hinders timely review and constitutes an unreasonable practice, potentially obscuring billing inaccuracies. 5. Excessive Time for Opposing Counsel Discussions: The hours billed for communications with opposing counsel are disproportionately high relative to the complexity of the discussions, as assessed by professional standards. 6. Prolonged Case Dismissal: The process to dismiss my case was unnecessarily protracted due to delays attributable to your firm.
Dora and Andre are a great team. They’re there for you when you truly need them and are great coaches along the way. Communication was lacking at times, including conversation and resolution with opposing counsel. Overall, I’d recommend them for simple and short tail cases

Extremely incompetent lawyer. I hired her to handle a simple business matter. After Dora Sokolowski didn’t get the results she said she could I filed the paperwork myself and got great results. Too bad I had to learn about her the hard way. Hopefully this review with serve to help others avoid going through what I did.

I hired the Lex firm and was so happy I did so. They understood my problems, my situation and helped me with my legal difficulties. I couldn’t have found a better firm to deal with my legal troubles. They were compassionate, understanding, reasonably priced, and got me the outcome I was looking for. I would like to thank them, not only by giving them a five star review, but by telling you, this is a firm you can trust, a firm that will do anything to help. They truly go the extra mile for you.
