It was just about 21 years ago that I was fortunate enough to meet Shannon Miller when my mother, then in hospice care, was at the end stage of her end-stage illness and, due to recent significant changes in our family’s situation, needed to make critical changes to her existing last will and testament . . . and to do so without delay.
Because of the day-to-day limitations that the illness placed on Mom’s ability to participate in the change proceedings at that point, it took a lot of patience and repeated visits to her bedside to effectively record, document and formalize her wishes, but Shannon and her staff were 100-percent responsive to every potential opportunity, focused and supportive throughout, and ultimately successful in making sure that Mom’s wishes for the family she was leaving behind would be official in every way, able to be fulfilled as she hoped and followed in accordance with every letter of her instructions.
So, fast forward to 2026, when it came time for me to hire an attorney to create my own estate planning documents from scratch, Shannon’s still-renowned Miller Elder Law Firm was the only candidate on my list. Once again, I was embraced by a staff totally dedicated to achieving what needed to be achieved and totally capable of assembling all of the what-some-would-call complicated pathways I had suggested for including what I was envisioning. Simplifying all of that and creating a cohesive, comprehensive and logical approach to forming the perfect legal documents I needed, this exemplary team brought order to everything by combining professional expertise with a strong sense of empathy and caring.
Answering all of my many questions and concerns along the way with sound legal knowledge, true compassion and their trademark patience and kindness, they guided me to a place of understanding and comfort, enabling me to sign all of the documents with confidence that everything would now be in place that needed to be in place, that now – instead of having worries about the future – I could be confident that plans are established for every aspect of my future no matter what that future may bring, and that, finally, I could breathe a sigh of relief and comfortably move forward with the rest of my life.
With dedication, performance, expertise and caring as impressive as this collection of “gifts” I have experienced and feel blessed to have received in the past and now, again, from Shannon and everyone at Miller Elder Law Firm, a maximum possible review of only five stars just seems inadequate.
