A Life-Changing Attorney: Elizabeth Vanatta I am writing this review as a testament to the exceptional legal representation and guidance I have received from Attorney Elizabeth Vanatta since 2020. Throughout our journey together, Elizabeth has been a constant source of support, expertise, and care, helping me navigate the darkest times of my life and emerge stronger, wiser, and more determined than ever. Elizabeth's unwavering dedication to her clients is truly inspiring. She has a unique ability to balance empathy with tough love, pushing me to be a better father and individual, even when the road ahead seemed uncertain. Her mantra, "She can't help those who are not trying to help themselves," has stuck with me and become a guiding principle in my life. It's a reminder that with hard work, determination, and the right guidance, anyone can overcome adversity and achieve their goals. One of Elizabeth's greatest strengths is her tireless work ethic. She is always available, including weekends, to address my concerns and provide valuable advice. Her ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex problems has been invaluable to my case. Time and time again, she has demonstrated a deep understanding of the law and a mastery of the litigation process, consistently presenting well-researched and well-prepared arguments in court. What sets Elizabeth apart from other attorneys I have worked with is her genuine care and concern for her clients. She is not just a lawyer; she is a trusted advisor, a confidante, and a role model. Her passion for justice and her commitment to fighting for what is right are evident in everything she does. I have witnessed her in litigation numerous times, and her preparation, expertise, and poise under pressure are truly impressive. If you are considering hiring an attorney, I would highly recommend Elizabeth Vanatta. However, I must caution that she is not for everyone. If you are not willing to take her advice, listen to her guidance, and put in the effort required to achieve a successful outcome, then you may not be the best fit for her services. But if you are willing to work hard, trust her expertise, and follow her lead, I have no doubt that you will achieve exceptional results. In my opinion, Elizabeth Vanatta is the top attorney in Colorado Springs. Her professionalism, caring nature, and unparalleled preparation make her a formidable opponent in the courtroom. I have seen her present binders full of evidence, meticulously organized and thoroughly researched, to support her arguments. Her attention to detail and commitment to excellence are traits that set her apart from other attorneys
Every divorce comes with its own challenges. Unfortunately, my divorce ended up being very high conflict case. I originally made the mistake of retaining a law firm other than Travis Law Group. While that firm had a low retainer, it ended up being much more costly. Over the period of just a few months that I was with them, I accumulated over twelve thousand dollars in expenses. This was even before any actions had been taken in the court systems, and even prior to the Initial Status Conference. Mr. Travis’s firm was recommended to me by a friend. After doing my initial consultation with Rich, I realized that working with his firm would be the best way forward for my case. Rich, Megan, Elizabeth, and the entire team at Travis Law Group have been nothing but phenomenal. Unlike my previous firm, Rich and his team were extremely supportive and active in my case. Due to several court delays, conflicts over parenting time, decision authority, finances, and communication concerns with the other party; my case lasted over two years. During this time, Rich always advised me on where we could try to reach out to the other party to reduce conflict and work towards agreements. When this ended up not being possible, he helped me understand what he believed would be the best possible approach. He was not hesitant to let me know what he believed was in the realm of the possible versus the concerns that were not worth pursuing. I found this to be refreshing. My previous firm seemed to pursue efforts that were fruitless that led to higher fees. Travis Law Group, in my view, operates with an extremely high level of integrity. Rich was always willing to listen to my concerns and take my case in the direction I wanted. At the same time, he was willing to voice his view on what might be best, to include consideration for my son and long-term solutions to avoid future conflicts where possible. I cannot recommend Travis Law Group enough!
I couldn’t ask for a better, more well-rounded, suitable, professional, not just attorney, but respectable human in handling family law matters. I’ve used Rich Travis and his firm ongoing since 2003. He’s always been my go-to-expert in manners related to handling difficult matters with delusional exes who seem to continue their egregious tirades believing their somehow right within their ill-begotten parenting ideologies and deranged minds of being some victim using the slighted system against fathers. Colorado family law is skewed based on 35+ years of poor legislation and (Child Enforcements misguidance and misinterpretation of law) attempting to correct past bad fathers’ behaviors; they certainly have made contemporary father’s pay a terrible price for others past behaviors. It’s not based on equality nor does the state believe in father’s having rights as its Rich’s attempts to correct this ongoing problem. He has been there for me in just about all the way (when I’ve retained him) and when I didn’t use his expertise, twice due to my own impatience or lack of willingness to sum up the retainer, I soon regretted it by retaining far inferior attorneys. Yes, retaining Rich doesn’t offer his expertise at a light expense, but you get what you “retain” for and not at anytime did he stray me wrong and was well behind the wheel when representing me. He fights for you and your parental rights! Regardless of gender. He holds much honor and respect not just for his military service, but how he uses those Army values with his practice bestowed within his guidance, for direction and leadership.
I cannot recommend Rich and his team enough. The time, effort, thought, and SOUL that he put into our case - I will never be able to properly thank him. We have worked with Rich for approximately 8 years now. We unfortunately did not get our intended outcome, at no fault of Rich’s - sometimes the judge’s just don’t or can’t see it, and I honestly don’t think it would’ve been as strong of a shot as it was without Rich and Marissa, and Megan and Chandler. Brilliant minds full of wit and passion with a blazing fire inside each of them for fighting for parents rights. Rich was our last chance at saving our son, and while the justice system failed our son, Rich stood by us and fought valiantly for his best interests and for our family, when no one else would or could. And Rich’s heart broke alongside ours when we lost, but he also immediately resorted to future strategy and gave us all our options. He never lied to us, or inflated our chances. He pushed us when he knew we could do more, and he validated us when he knew we’d done all we could. He sympathized with us, but he was also honest and real about the situation, which is a careful but necessary line to be able to walk in these kinds of cases. If you’re fighting for your family, for your kids…it’s the most important fight of your life and you need someone like Rich on your side during a time like this. I could write a book on how admirable and honorable Rich is as an attorney, and maybe I will write a book about all of this one day, but I will leave you with this last bit: you will not regret hiring Rich. I would stake my family on it.
Update: After I left my first review, I wound up having to hire Liz again to make sure that my new custody arrangement was approved to be permanent by the courts unless the non-custodial parent made significant changes. This time I had a new witness who was absolutely key to proving my case but her testimony was an incredibly difficult one for her to give and for anyone to hear. Liz worked with her and with me every step of the way and we were able to accomplish what we needed to. I highly encourage anyone who has to undertake the process of restricting parenting time for an ex to not only hire an attorney, but consider hiring Liz. She definitely has the legal know-how and ability to tackle these really tough and critical situations. Original: I don't know what I would have done without Elizabeth Vanatta and her amazing paralegals. My child was in a horrible situation and she helped me get her out of it. She explained every step of the process and all the paperwork was completed accurately and in a timely manner. She is incredibly professional in the courtroom and excellent at what she does. Worth every penny.
