CCK took my case March 2025. Very little communication from them throughout the following months. March 2026 I receive notification from the VA forms were filled on my behalf. All said and done received one month of retroactive benefits after them having my case for over a year. I thought the point of them taking certain cases was to win back the benefits owed. I’m certain they dropped the ball on my case. I wish I used another firm. Be careful with them.

I strongly caution veterans before using Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick for VA disability representation. My experience with their intake process was deeply frustrating, overly bureaucratic, and, in my opinion, completely disconnected from the actual VA rules governing representation. Here is what happened. I previously signed a private representation agreement with another law office. That prior firm had nearly a year and, according to VA, never filed a power of attorney, never became my VA-recognized representative, and never submitted anything on my behalf. I later terminated that private agreement in writing and provided proof that the termination email was sent. I then contacted VA directly. VA confirmed to me over the phone and in writing that there was no active power of attorney on file for that prior firm and that they had never represented me before VA. Despite that, Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick continued insisting that I obtain a withdrawal or release letter on the prior firm’s letterhead. That demand made no practical sense in my situation. VA confirmed there was no active POA. I had already terminated the private agreement in writing. VA rules allow a claimant to revoke a POA, discharge a representative, and execute a new POA that supersedes any existing POA unless limited. Yet CCK still treated the situation as if an unresponsive prior firm had veto power over my ability to move forward. That is not advocacy. That is gatekeeping. I provided CCK with the prior agreement, my written termination notice, proof the termination email was sent, proof of repeated unanswered attempts to contact the prior firm, and VA’s confirmation that no POA existed. Instead of applying common sense and legal judgment to the actual facts, the intake process kept circling back to a checklist requirement for a release letter that did not appear legally necessary or practically obtainable. I spoke with multiple intake representatives, and the process left me with the impression that they did not understand, or were not willing to apply, the VA rules that controlled the situation. When VA itself confirms there is no active POA, requiring a veteran to chase a letterhead release from a nonresponsive firm that VA says never represented him is absurd. This was not a small claim. If successful, my case likely could have generated significant attorney fees. But CCK still allowed a senseless paperwork demand to block the process. That told me everything I needed to know. I have now started the VA claim process myself and have already begun moving my case forward without them. Veterans deserve advocates who know how to fight through unusual facts, not intake systems that hide behind rigid paperwork demands. Based on my experience, Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick felt more like a gatekeeping machine than a law office ready to fight for me. I would not recommend them to veterans who need urgent, thoughtful, or aggressive help with a VA disability claim. Vets do your homework and look at all their negative reviews. You will easily see a pattern that I’m not the first to complain about this! Semper Fidelis

I had a great experience with Chisholm Chisholm & Kilpatrick (CCK). After reaching out to multiple attorneys for help with my VA disability claim and getting little to no response, they were the first firm that actually got back to me. Even though my case wasn’t the right fit for their office, they didn’t just leave me hanging. They took the time to review my situation and referred me to another firm that may be able to help. That meant a lot, especially after feeling ignored by so many others. Because of their response and referral, I may have finally found someone willing to help me move forward with getting properly rated by the VA. That kind of professionalism and willingness to help—even when they’re not taking your case—is rare. Highly recommend reaching out to them if you need guidance on a VA claim.

This terrible firm reached out to me claiming they could get me more disability back pay that was owed to me. All they did was get an old claim reviewed and got themselves paid around 7 or 8 thousand dollars, they even sent me a letter gloating about it with an exact amount they were paid. Thank god I didn't hire these losers and was out zero dollars, just sad that they scammed either our government or the DAV, who they claim passed on my info.

I'm sure their great, if you're worth their time.

I was delighted to have the CCK team work on my behalf. I was discouraged by the advocates who supposedly help veterans with their benefits. I had one lawyer who specializes in veterans cases review my case and tell me he wouldn’t take my case. One day, while perusing the internet, I saw an ad for CCK. I started the process, they reviewed it and the wheels were in motion. They kept me informed of progress being made by them and responses they were getting from the VA. CCK asked my permission to hire an expert in the area of professional evaluation and asked him to make an assessment on my capabilities based on my medical records. Fast forward about 2.5 years and I was awarded a 100% rating! That’s something that I couldn’t achieve in 10 years on my own after trying the resources I listed in the first paragraph. I highly recommend this law firm to anyone who needs help with their case!

Ive been with this law firm for about a year now. So far all I've gotten are denial letters from the VA. Ive been told for months that my case is in the developmental stage. Last time I spoke with their receptionist someone was supposed to return my call to explain in detail why this stage was taking so long. Im still waiting going on a week. Skeptical about this firm so far.

This is Keith Jones. For all the mentally challenged that read this review, please get an education and stop whining and blaming other people, including this law firm for your own lack of awareness. I hired them on January 31, 2025. I had a total of 10% service connected disability on that day. They took me all the way to 100% disability in 5.5 months. So, yeah... they're good. Better than good. They're amazing! If they will take your case, hire them!
